Their Little Brains

Today after I left the house, I realized that (pardon what you're about to read) I had left the [clean] rag on the carpet after cleaning up Cali's throw up... as I was driving to work, I figured that by the time I came home  they would've played tug of war with it, chewed it up and I was expecting to find the rag in a weird place like in the fireplace or in between the couch cushions... Well, to my surprise, I found this:

Intact!! I can tell they had been laying by the rag because of that bone they left there... but they still did not touch the rag!

And the other day when I went out to dinner with the brother, I came home to find that they had managed to get poor St. Francis of Assisi OFF the wall and chewed up his cross. I (unexpectedly) came home to find this:

There is just absolutely no telling what goes on in their little brains....

La' Berry

Earlier this week, Norm and I went to La' Berry Frozen Yogurt Cafe which happens to be conveniently located right around the corner from our house. It sits in a cute little (and bright) building so we figured we would go check it out.

You go in and they give you little sample cups. Then you go over to the "flavor bar" (that's what I'm calling it) and you can try all eight flavors of frozen yogurt (for us, these included fudgealicious, taro, cookies and cream, vanilla, cake batter, no sugar added mint, watermelon and pomegranate).

After you decide what flavor(s) you like, you grab a cup and serve yourself as much quantities of one (or all) flavor(s) as your heart desires. Just like this:

Then you go over to the first toppings bar and add fun things to your cup. The other toppings bars included fruits, syrups, crunchy things like almonds, coconut, candied pecans, etc. I think they advertised over 80 toppings....

Then they weigh it for you and you pay $0.45 per ounce... we weighed ours together and it came to a total of $9.05. Now that I look at this picture closely, I think it's quite obvious that the weight of my cup contributed more to the $9.05 total than Norm's....

After that, you sit in the cute and bright little place (which by the way has an awesome porch, so we will be back when the weather warms up - that's for sure) and enjoy your frozen treat!!

The end.

Plenty of Space

It always amuses me how despite the plenty of square footage offered by this house as well as the plenty of dog toys offered by yours truly, Pellet and Cali must always lay in the same 4ft area and play with the same toy. Just like so:

So then Cali slowly goes for Pellet's toy:

And she gets closer....

And Pellet quickly puts her in her place. So she looks the other way and pouts.

Nevermind the green bone, or the red kong, or the black kong, or that brand new one we just bought (which might actually be outside), she has to play with the beige bone Pellet is currently playing with... Just like siblings...

We Are the Landlords, My Friends

Subject of post to be read/sung to the tune of Queen's "We are the Champions"

Four and a half months later, we can finally say: WE ARE LANDLORDS!!!

Well, sort of I suppose, because we are hiring a property management company, but still - we can finally start saving the second monthly rent!

A huge thanks to Margie at Marge at Large for all her hard work which involved getting stood up by "interested" people on Sunday afternoons, showings at 8:30am on rainy Mondays as well as countless emails and texts at every and any time of day and day of week.
