Do-It-Yourself

A couple of days ago there was much commotion at the house. The dogs had to be sent away - to the Harmony Pet Resort which they absolutley love... Pellet even got to swim in the pool - and we moved the furniture out onto the porch and kitchen so we could clean the carpet. We were a pretty efficient team and got the job done in about 3 1/2 hours. Enjoy some pictures.

Figuring out how everything works... we read instructions before starting!
Norm is so graceful with his carpet-cleaning techniques...

Fernanda is not
Even the couches were cleaned
Fernanda didn't just goof off and take pictures...

Much Needed Storms... or not?

The last few nights we've had severe storms come through this part of Georgia. Although the region (and our yard and flowers) are in much need of these storms, the dogs and our ears are not.
Here are some pictures of the behavior brought forth by these storms:

In case these pictures are not able to define the behavior, we'll define it in one word: CRAZINESS (with lots of barking).

Two Thousand Words

If a picture is worth 1,000 words you're about to experience 2,000 words...

*Disclaimer #1: there was no human involvement that assisted in the achievement of these actions*

*Disclaimer #2: there was human involvement after these actions were performed - this human involvement was manifested as "NO!!"*

Easily Forgotten

Today I (Fern) have come to realize how easily we had forgotten all the feelings that come with house training a puppy. To name a few: exhaustion, defeat, frustration, impatience. It is unbelievable how once these days - that seem to be never ending - pass, we quickly forget all the troubles we had to go through to be able to live with the new puppy member of the family.

In the meantime, I wish I had 6 extra eyeballs (throughout the house, not attached to my head) to be able to keep an eye on her at all times. By the way... she's now sleeping which allows me to be typing.

At the end of the day, I know she will eventually learn to knock at the back door like Pellet does. Until then, thank you Spot Shot and Norm's old tee shirts. Although the process may be frustrating and nerve racking, how can we resist this:
It makes it all worthwhile.

Glimpses

Here's a picture that is able to provide a small glimpse of what life with twelve feet is like:
Although, we do have to admit that there are small moments of time when life is more like this:

4th of July

We know we are a little late on posting about 4th of July Weekend, but better late than never! We lucked out that Norm was off that day, so we were able to spend it like normal people (not at work). Here are some fun pictures!

Cali discovered the sprinkler and had a blast:

We all relaxed on the porch, including little Cali:

Family portrait (minus one):

We had our own fireworks show in the driveway:

Comment of the Day

The following comment came up as we were giving Pellet a bath this afternoon:

"In a few months, we'll have to bathe TWO large dogs each month"

can't wait. For obvious reasons, we cannot share pictures of us giving Pellet a bath (we don't have enough hands as it is to bathe him fast enough, let alone to take a picture). Stay tuned... one day we just might develop the talent.

Twelve Feet - Ten Feet

We have owed a post or two for this past week and we do apologize. With Fernanda gone to visit Natasha in Idaho, Norm had his hands 150% full with work, the yard, housework and the pups (one of which still is in potty training mode).

Each day is surely bringing new challenges in regards to multitasking. On days like these an extra set of eyes that could follow little Cali around would be invaluable. Unless Cali and Pellet are playing loudly, Cali is like a little ghost that disappears and is nowhere to be found. To make things easier, we have put some "clothes" on her that jingle so we can hear her! Here's a picture of her with her new collar:

Unfortunately since the collar is not the most comfortable thing in the world, she does spend lots of time doing this:

All in all, life is still great and full of entertainment and excitement. One last cute picture (check out the little tongue):
