Overheard by yours truly earlier today in a public place:
This was the interaction between a whiny 8-10 year old and her mother:
Whiny child [yelling]: Mom! Mom! Mom, you are not being a good parent right now!!!
Child's mother: I know
And we ask ourselves "what is wrong with the youth?"?? my question is "what is wrong with the parents of the youth?"??
This interaction between parent and child would have never stood a chance when I was 8-10 years old. And today I am thankful to my parents for it.

It is tough for a parent when you are there, but after years you see that it was worth.
I don't like when I listen a child in the store yelling because he wants something, and the parent says "I have no money to buy it" What? I say to myself, you don't need to give any explanation in front of people....
I used to tell my children,"once in the store you should not be asking for things, you have everything you need at home".
Today I thank God I brought them up that way.
