Learning to Coexist

Cali is finally sleeping less throughout the day and started to develop social skills. Pellet as usual runs laps around the couch and Cali prances right behind him, gets tired and stops, making Pellet (who is going full speed) have to jump over her. Maybe one of these days we'll be able to catch a mini video of this very entertaining (and dizzying) routine.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of the first stages of the wonderful art of coexistance at the Aldredge household.

Limp Away

This afternoon there was miscommunication in the house and Fernanda left the front gate of the fence wide open not knowing that Pellet had been let out of the back door. Without hesitation Pellet got out and took off across the front yard and into the woods.

Barefooted, and with a papertowel from cleaning up Cali's #2, Fernanda took off running down the road calling for him at the same time Norm came out of the house to help. I'm sure this would've been a winner at an America's Funniest Videos show...

A minute or two (which felt more like 45) of this scene went by before Pellet came running back home.

After a power nap, Pellet got up and started to limp. It was so sad to watch him try to carry his 110 pounds around with only three legs. So that's where we're at tonight. Pellet is pouting and in pain yet Cali continues to do strange things such as this:

Tomorrow will be another day and it will hopefully bring around less limping.

The New Addition

Today our home population increased from eight feet to twelve with the addition of Cali. She is the little one and the other one is her new companion Pellet. Pellet has been whith us for the last two and a half years, since he was five weeks old. Cali is currently five weeks old. Our dogs are our family. We love them and appreciate their companionship and hope that you do too!
